Day 5 (14.06.2019) - A day in Leh

It was cold morning in Leh and today we had no such long ride plan because it is advised to all Leh Ladakh travelers to do not go outer places without spending at least a day or two in local Leh area so that body can adapt the environment and we were also feeling the headache due to acute mountain sickness (AMS). Today our plan was to explore the local Leh. We stepped out from hotel and first went to tourist permit centre office where we got our inner line permit stamped which we already booked few days back through online. This permit is needed to visit Nubra valley, Pangong Lake and other outer places.

After getting the permit stamped we had the breakfast at restaurant in local market. Now we went to see the Leh Palace which is a former royal palace of the Leh Kingdom. It is one of the biggest tourist attraction of Leh city.

Now we had returned to the Leh market. We were carrying the camping tent with us so still we had to purchase the mat for tent. We got the mat in local shop and came back to hotel.

We had to shift into another room in the hotel because the room we got last was booked for another guest in advance. After shifting the luggage to another room we planned to get our bike's washed. We found a washing centre few kilometers away from the hotel where we got our bike's washed and returned to the market for lunch.

After having the lunch we went to see the Shanti Stupa which is 5 km away from the City. It's a another nice palace to visit in Leh.

In evening we went to the market where we purchased few souvenir of Leh trip and also had our dinner. It was an amazing day in Leh!!
